In Loving Memory of Tasia Marie Silvas
6/12/1978 - 8/10/2005
A PASSION FOR LIFE AND DANCE .....

About
Family and friends of Tasia Marie Silvas have come together to honor the life of a remarkable young woman—a dedicated student and passionate folklorico dancer who lost her battle with the rare cancer Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma at just 27 years old. Tasia began dancing at age three in Corpus
Christi and spent her life sharing the beauty of Hispanic culture through teaching, coordinating workshops, and organizing performances for audiences of all ages. She was deeply involved in her school, community, and church.
To celebrate Tasia’s enduring spirit, Friends of the Tasia Marie Silvas Memorial Scholarship was established. This scholarship supports aspiring students who embody Tasia’s motivation and love of learning. Despite a four-year battle with cancer, Tasia never gave up on her dream of earning a
college degree. Ten days after her passing, her family proudly accepted her Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Texas State University on her behalf. By sharing Tasia’s story, we hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and live life to the fullest.
Our organization continues to fund educational scholarships and promote cultural programs in her memory.
